AI Down Status is an independent site published at aidownstatus.com. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any of the AI providers it reports on. For any privacy question, write to info@aidownstatus.com.

Information we collect

Reading the site requires no account and no personal details. We collect personal information only in these situations:

• If you contact us. When you email us, or submit the contact form, you give us your email address and whatever you write in the message. The contact form is handled by a third-party form-processing service (Web3Forms) that forwards the message to us by email; it is not stored in a database on this site.
• Automatically, in technical logs. Our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to keep the service secure, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse.
• Automatically, through analytics and advertising. See the two sections below.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, sensitive personal information. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, approximate location at country or region level, device and browser type, and how visitors arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes this usage data on Google's infrastructure. We use it only in aggregate to improve the site, never to identify you personally.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows advertising through Google AdSense. The following disclosures apply:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.

We do not build our own advertising profile of you, and we do not combine ad data with anything you send us directly. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site remains readable without them.

Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

Where consent is required for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising, Google's consent mechanisms apply to the ads shown on this site, and your choices there govern whether personalised ads are served to you. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Because we hold so little, a request usually concerns nothing more than an email you have sent us.

Visitors in California

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly handle the personal information of anyone under 16. You may request access to or deletion of information we hold by writing to info@aidownstatus.com.

Server and security logs

Standard technical log data is retained for a limited period and then discarded. It is used to keep the site available and secure, not to identify or profile individual readers.

Live status signals

The status indicators, uptime figures, and history strips on this site are produced by reading the public status feeds that each AI provider publishes. That happens on our servers on a schedule, not in your browser, and involves none of your personal data. Nothing about your visit is sent to the providers being monitored.

Data retention

Messages you send are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up. Technical logs are kept briefly, then discarded. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience, is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date above.
